Maternity capital should be indexed annually for inflation, as this measure of support of birth rate in Russia are completely justified, the lower house of Parliament may return to this issue when considering the budget for 2018-2020, said RIA Novosti the head of the state Duma Committee on financial market Anatoly Aksakov («Fair Russia»).

Earlier, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that the maternity capital will be indexed in 2020, until then its size will not change.

«The fact of the extension of the use of the parent capital – it is absolutely the right idea. Of course, it would be better if it were indexed to inflation annually. Clearly, the absolute number is not changing, but relatively it will change, will be eaten by inflation,» Aksakov told RIA Novosti.

The MP also stressed that «the idea of the parent capital has justified itself and proved to be one of the most effective tools» with the support of the birth rate in Russia, but, unfortunately, resources are always limited.

«I hope that in considering the budget we have, let’s say, for this topic can come back next year and for the next three years, at 18 and for the next two years», — he added.
