Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited Vietnamese counterpart Tran Dai Quang to be held in 2019 cross year of two countries.

«In 2019 marks the 25th anniversary of the conclusion of the founding Treaty of friendship, and it would be possible to this date to coincide with the «cross» year of Russia in Vietnam and Vietnam in Russia», — Putin said at a meeting with Vietnamese counterpart.

The Russian leader noted that the program of the visit of Vietnamese President in Russia is rich, in particular, he met with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and the presidents of both chambers of Parliament, and on Friday will travel to St. Petersburg.

«I am confident that your visit will be a good stimulus for further development of special, friendly, strategic relations between our countries», — Putin said.
