The average life expectancy in Russia in 2016 has increased to 71.8 years; this is the highest figure in the history of this data collection, the longest-lived in the North Caucasus and in Moscow, said on Thursday the newspaper «Izvestia» with reference to Rosstat database.

«The average life expectancy in Russia in 2016 rose to a record figure in the history of collecting these data — 71,87 year. This figure is given in the data of Rosstat. Over the past five years, the average life expectancy increased from 70.2 years in 2012 to 71,87 of the year last year. For the longest time live in Russia in Ingushetia, Dagestan, and Moscow — more than 77 years», — writes the edition.

According to the publication, for women, the figure is 77 years for men and 66.5.

The lowest figure — in Tuva (64.2 years), in the Chukotka Autonomous district (64.4 years) and the Jewish Autonomous region (65.8 per year). The publication reports that the situation in these regions has been observed for the past five years.
