Atypical cold weather was one of the factors that may growth in industrial production, according to the report of the Ministry of economic development.

According to statistics from the MAYOR, in may the industrial production index increased by 5.6 percentage points compared to the same period last year.

This growth is partially influenced by abnormally cold weather. So, «electric power, gas and steam increased by 4.7%,» says the Ministry document.

In many regions of Russia in may had unusually low temperatures. In particular, in Moscow and St.-Petersburg have decided to extend the heating season until mid-month.
