Archaeologists of the far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) found in the South of Primorsky Krai medieval burial ground of the Jurchen, which also discovered coins, pottery and jewelry, according to the University.

«Experts say that a large burial ground of Empire Jin was found in the region for the first time. The monument dates back to the XII-XIII centuries and has brought a lot of interesting artifacts — the remains of pottery, jewelry, arrowheads, coins and other household items. As told the head of the Museum of archaeology and Ethnography of the scientific-research Museum of the University Evgeny Nikitin, on the site of the excavation discovered 27 ancient burial», — stated in the message.

According to the scientist, a considerable part of them is a round stone objects with the remains of burnt wood, inside which are two or three separate burial. Next – pottery, jewelry, items, weapons. In one tomb were found the remains of the horse, which, according to scientists, it belonged to the deceased. Skeletal human remains in a cemetery, probably not, because the Jurchen were buried the ashes of the dead.

Archaeologists have found the remains of several clay pots with unique patterns, tile decoration, hunting, and armour-piercing iron arrowheads, Chinese coins, issued at 1102 1106. All the finds will go into a fundamental collection of the Museum of the University. Scientists say the finds ceramics high Imperial quality — since the dawn of the Golden Empire of the Jin dynasty. It is assumed that this burial ground were buried the representatives of high status. Near this place was a large settlement, but it’s already ruined.

In the expedition involved 60 people. Excavations are carried out on the area more than 5 thousand square meters. So far managed to open only the upper part of the monument. Work here will continue for another month. The group then go to «Solonetz 2» — an object that refers to the Yankovskaya culture of the paleometal period (VIII—I century BC) and chronowski culture of the early iron age (V century BC — I century ad).

Excavations in the South region is carried out by order of «Gazprom», which is a pipeline to the shipbuilding complex «Zvezda» in Bolshoi Kamen. When designing threads in her way was the 17 archaeological sites, 15 of them managed to get around, and the two objects was carried out by scientists of the University.

Jurchen — an ancient people who lived on the territory of modern Primorsky region in X-XIII centuries. Destroyed the remnants of the Jurchen cities are found throughout the region.
