The government gave a negative conclusion on the bill the liberal democratic party, which proposes to make a holiday the Monday after Easter, the press service of the Deputy from the liberal democratic party, co-author of the draft law Yaroslav Nilov.

In April deputies from LDPR in the state Duma introduced a bill which proposed to introduce in Russia an extra day off — the day following the feast of the Passover.

«Given the multinational and multi-confessional composition of the population of the Russian Federation the bill may lead to tensions in the sphere of interethnic and interreligious relations, as well as violation of the constitutional principle of equality of religious associations before the law», — stated in the opinion of the government, which quoted the press service of the head of the Duma Committee on labor, social policy and veterans ‘ Affairs Yaroslav Nilov.

The Cabinet noted that this legislative initiative needs to be broad discussion with representatives of the expert community and religious associations.

In turn, Nilov added that the opinion widely discussed in the environment of the expert community and religious associations, of course, can agree. The Deputy noted that he did not agree that the bill could cause tension in the sphere of interethnic and interreligious relations.
