About 250 thousand people were left without electricity as a result of snowfall that hit the Chilean capital Santiago, according to TV channel Bi-bi-si.

According to the channel, one person was killed when clearing ice. Two people were injured in the result of damage to power lines.

In addition to interruptions in the supply of electricity element has also led to a breach of public transport in the capital. Several sporting events were postponed.
