The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the U.S. Yousef al-Otaiba said that the publication about the role of the UAE in organizing cyber attacks on the state news Agency of Qatar, triggered the crisis, is false.

The conflict between Qatar and its neighbors in the region occurred when the Qatari news Agency posted a speech on behalf of the Emir of the country in support of building relations with Iran. Qatar stated that the site was hacked, and the publication is not related to the country’s authorities. However, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain considered this rebuttal unconvincing and insisted that the words on the normalization of relations with Iran really belongs to the Emir.

The earlier edition of the Washington Post, citing officials in the US intelligence reported that the cyber attack on media Qatar was organized by UAE.

«The message Washington Post is false. UAE in the slightest degree did not play any role in a given cyber attack described in this article,» wrote the Ambassador on his Twitter page.

The material of the publication stated that the US intelligence officials, analyzing the information gathered, last week confirmed that high-ranking members of the government of the UAE on 23 may discussed the plan and its implementation.

The cyber attack was carried out on 24 may, the newspaper said. However, it is unclear whether it was conducted by the United Arab Emirates or they turned to the other side, officials note.

Earlier, the foreign Minister of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdurrahman al-Thani announced that with the holding of cyberattacks related by some countries in the Middle East, without specifying what the state in question.

Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt in early June, broke off diplomatic relations with Doha and stopped with Qatar every message, accusing him of supporting terrorism and interference in their internal Affairs. Later, the Arab countries issued an ultimatum to Qatar, calling for a 10-day deadline to agree to meet the requirements of the neighbors. Qatar has rejected accusations from its Arab neighbors and stated that their demands are unrealistic and cannot be fulfilled, and violate its sovereignty.
