The state space scientific production center (Khrunichev) Khrunichev plans to spend at least five rockets light class «Rokot» before the program ends in early 2018, told RIA Novosti press-service of the Center.

Earlier it was reported that the latest missile launches «Rumble» is scheduled for early 2018.

«Today, we have five contracts for launches of «Rokot» — two commercial and three government customers. The plan launches is pending,» — said the representative of the Centre.

The latest launch will put into orbit the European satellite Sentinel-3B. In September 2017 it is planned to be launched Sentinel-5P.

Earlier, the Director General of GKNPTs Khrunichev Andrei Kalinovsky told RIA Novosti that to renew the program of launches of «Rokot» is meaningless because of the deterioration of production capacity, has been operating for over 30 years. In addition, a similar problem is able to meet the new Russian rocket «Angara A1.2».

The Rokot carrier was created by the conversion program on the basis of the accelerator block the first and second stages removed-alerting of Intercontinental ballistic missiles UR-100НУ. The rocket equipped with the upper stage «breeze-K», and then «breeze-KM» and adapted for commercial satellites using the new transition system and fairing.

The first demonstration commercial launch of «Rokot» from launch complex in Plesetsk with two Iridium satellite simulators («iridium») was held in 2000, and in 2002 began regular operation of a new Russian space system with a conclusion to a circumterraneous orbit two satellites of the GRACE («GRACE»).

«Roar» was used for launching small and medium satellites weighing 1.95 tons into low earth orbit. During the period from 2000 to the present time from the Plesetsk cosmodrome was conducted 26 launches of this missile, in which the orbit was derived from more than 60 satellites for various purposes.
