Russia is ready for any cooperation with the United States, but the sanctions, which were adopted at Washington, very serious, said RIA Novosti Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Alexei chepa.

On Thursday, the U.S. Senate adopted the law on sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea. Earlier this week the house of representatives of the United States Congress adopted by an overwhelming majority (419-3). Now the law will be sent for signature to President Donald Trump, who has the right to veto it. To overcome a veto, Congress needs two-thirds votes in each chamber that, based on the results of past polls, it is highly likely. On Friday the White house announced that President Donald trump will sign the bill.

U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson said on Saturday that he hoped to preserve cooperation with Russia on major global issues.

«We are ready to any cooperation, (but) these sanctions, which were in the form of the law will be whatever trump, from his administration, from the (possible) mitigation, this is a very serious sanctions which the Americans are now taking,» said chepa RIA Novosti.

«Even if trump does not sign this law.. in order to veto, it is necessary to have a majority (in Congress — ed.) and it is not» — said the Deputy.

In addition, the bill requires additional restrictive measures against Russian economic sectors, it virtually deprives the President of the United States the opportunity to cancel a new or already existing sanctions without the approval of Congress. Thus, this greatly restricts the freedom of action of the U.S. President in foreign policy.
