The American Governor of Florida Rick Scott declared a state of emergency in 31 County of the state due to the impending tropical storm «Emily», the official website of the policy.

«The state of emergency will allow the state to interact extensively with local authorities to provide them with all the resources they need,» reads the statement of the Governor. The evacuation of local residents has not been undertaken.

Earlier it was reported that tropical storm, named Emily, was formed in the Gulf of Mexico near the coast of Florida. According to the National center for the prevention of hurricanes USA (NHC), now it’s moving East with a speed of 13 kilometers per hour. It is expected that soon the storm will reach Central and southern part of the state and will bring in rains and winds.

A tropical storm is named, when the speed of the accompanying wind reaches 62 miles per hour. The storm becomes a hurricane when wind speed exceeds 119 kilometers per hour.
