Farewell to the relics of the Holy righteous warrior Fyodor Ushakov before returning to the Nativity of the Theotokos Sanaksar monastery in Mordovia was held in Stavropegic St. Nicholas Marine Cathedral in Kronstadt, told RIA Novosti the head of the press service of the Western military district (ZVO) Colonel Igor Muginov.

«In the Kronstadt Naval Cathedral soldiers ZVO, pupils of military-Patriotic movement «Uname» and representatives of city administration took part in the solemn ceremony of farewell to the relics of the Holy righteous warrior Fyodor Ushakov. Shrine with his relics will travel to Mordovia in Sanaksar monastery, near which his estate of the legendary Admiral in prayer, spent the last years of his life,» said Muginov.

Earlier, the defense Ministry said that the blessing of his Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill the relics of Admiral Ushakov July 27, was taken to Kronstadt. On the day of the naval fleet and the main naval parade, July 30, in the Kronstadt Church held a solemn service.
