Ex-CIA officer Edward Snowden said the ban on anonymizers «violation of human rights».

«It doesn’t matter if he’s adopted (the law banning anonymizers — ed.) in China, in Russia or elsewhere, we must clearly understand that this is not a reasonable «measure» and a violation of human rights,» Snowden wrote in his microblog Twitter.

According to him, «the ban on the use of «nielegalnych» basic tools Internet security makes Russia less safe and less free.»

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law that prohibits the use of access technologies in Russia blocked sites (so-called anonymizers). The law establishes a ban on the use of information systems and programs to gain access to Internet resources access to which in Russia is limited.

However, it is proposed to provide access to these networks and programs to the information resources of Roskomnadzor, containing data on sites to which access is restricted.
