The ex-mayor of Penza Alexander Pashkov will go on trial for fraud for nearly 100 million rubles in the construction of the medical center, reported on the website of the RF IC.

The investigation reported that the former head contractor for the construction of perinatal center in Penza Bogunov and the ex-mayor Pashkov in 2015 stole about 97 million rubles. Depending on the role each of the defendants they were charged for fraud in especially large size, incitement to embezzlement and embezzlement in especially large size. But prosecutors returned the case for further investigation to give legal assessment of embezzlement of budget funds and to establish the exact damage to the Treasury. Pashkov worked as the head of administration of Penza in 2005, then first Deputy Prime Minister of the regional government. As Vice-Premier he, together with accomplices has caused the Treasury of the region damages in the amount of 89.9 million rubles. The court in 2010 sentenced former officials for fraud in especially large size and on a number of articles to 8.5 years in prison and a fine of 500 thousand rubles. On 1 October 2012 the decision of the court Pashkov was paroled from prison.
