Kaliningrad authorities do not doubt the timely completion of the objects that should appear in the region for the world Cup in 2018, told reporters on Thursday the acting Governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov during a visit to the region Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vitaly Mutko.

«We have no concerns about the construction, completion, each week we’re going with all clients, contractors. Solved issues in «live» experiences there that will make everything in time,» said Alikhanov.

He noted that in preparation for the region tournament solves a lot of infrastructure problems, in particular large-scale transport project, the construction of the Eastern ramp needs to unload the basic highways of Kaliningrad and save the city from traffic jams during «rush hours». In addition, in preparation for the championship has already opened the first phase of the airport, also in the region will be the training base, hotels. Especially Alikhanov noted the development of the territory on which to build the main arena.

«The island is unprecedented in the modern history of the Kaliningrad project, which brings to life a vast territory – in addition to the stadium, it’s another 160 hectares of new reclaimed areas of the city, located in the heart. For us it is new perspectives and horizons, and we will try to embody the most courageous architectural decisions», — said the acting Governor.

Stadium to the world football championship on 35 thousand spectators are built on the Oktyabrskiy island in Kaliningrad. The contract for the construction contractor — the company «Crocus international» — was signed in December 2015, the sum of the contract made up 17.36 billion. Construction of the customer — FSUE «Sport-Engineering».

The first ever world Cup in Russia will take place from 14 June to 15 July 2018. The tournament matches will be played in Moscow, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-don, Sochi and Yekaterinburg. In Kaliningrad will host four group stage match: 16, 22, 25 and 28 June.
