A resident of Surgut (HMAO) Roman Kalashnikov, who was arrested in Indonesia on suspicion of drug smuggling and opened in Kerobokan restaurant, said that the court sentenced him to 17 years imprisonment.

At the end of last year the Russian was detained by Indonesian police at the airport of Bali. According to local law enforcement agencies, he brought in tubes from-under tooth-paste three kilograms of hashish from Nepal. Soon, being in an Indonesian prison, Kalashnikov, who worked in Surgut chef, together with his colleague in misfortune of Germany opened his own restaurant.

«Under the law of Indonesia, the case could end with the death penalty. Predprostor, which was announced by the Prosecutor on 10 July, was 20 years. Judges, taking into account some facts, we decided to reduce the restraint and sentenced me to 17 years of imprisonment,» wrote a young man on his page in social network «Vkontakte».

He said that he was additionally sentenced to a fine in the amount of 200 thousand dollars, and alternatively, the payments to four months in prison beyond the term.

«An appeal may be submitted within seven days. But we do not become. This is for several reasons, the main of which — low probability of advancement, while it will cost at least twice more than was already spent,» — said Kalashnikov, adding that the lawyer and the organization protection, he spent over 20 thousand dollars.
