The US gradually transformed into a parliamentary Republic, because the Congress is led by a President, and further the influence of Donald trump in Russian-American relations is not so much, said the first Deputy head of the international Committee of the Federation Council Vladimir Jabbarov.

Trump on Wednesday signed legislation significantly expands sanctions against Russia.

«This news is not surprising, now this is interesting, because the United States gradually transformed into a parliamentary Republic, which directs the President, forcing him to do what he wants,» said the legislator.

He expressed regret that trump didn’t become a powerful politician who will make significant steps to normalize relations with Russia. Jabbarov noted that trump did not receive serious support even in the Republican party.

According to the Senator, you need to wait for new elections in the U.S. Congress (to be held in November 2018), the arrival of the new, pragmatic policy configured on healthy cooperation with other countries.
