The U.S. Department of defense has suspended the employment of natives of other countries due to «potential security risks», reports the Fox News channel.

According to TV channel, we are talking about a so-called MAVNI program, which enabled the immigrants and not immigrants with the necessary qualifications to enlist in the U.S. armed forces in exchange for the accelerated granting American citizenship. The program was conceived under President George W. Bush, and began to operate under Barack Obama in 2009. Over the years the service was accepted more than 10 thousand people.

«The defense Department study program MAVNI due to the potential security risks associated with it» — said the TV channel the representative of the Pentagon Floor Haverstick.

«Defense Ministry officials said that the program is still in effect, however, admitted that new cases are temporarily suspended,» adds Fox News, citing its sources.

The TV station explains that the main problem of Pentagon officials and congressmen see in the lack of control over this category of servicemen. And while the US defense Department has no evidence that under the guise of immigrants in the service received supporters of terrorist organizations, that possibility remains a «cause for concern».
