Medvedev proposed SKOLKOVO to join the digital economy

SKOLKOVO could be involved in the implementation of the program «Digital economy», said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

«We are implementing a national technology initiative, in which the «SKOLKOVO» takes an active part. I also hope that SKOLKOVO will be connected to the implementation of new programs, «Digital economy», which I adopted just three days ago. In «SKOLKOVO» all for it», — Medvedev said at a meeting of the Board of Trustees «Fund of development of the Center for elaboration and commercialization of new technologies» (SKOLKOVO).

The last meeting of the Board of Trustees was held in December last year.

Medvedev said Monday that approved the program «Digital economy», which covers the period up to 2024. The head of the Ministry Nikolai Nikiforov explained that this program is, in fact, fixing the goals for 2024, to be pursued, and specific actions to achieve these goals, as well as the sources of their financing it is planned to approve a three-year plan of the government. According to the Minister, the current estimate of the annual cost under this plan is about 100 billion rubles, however, a significant portion of these funds is already incorporated in the expenditures of the Federal budget.

«The support of «SKOLKOVO», we pay special attention, and this year, investments planned very solid,» he added.

The SKOLKOVO Foundation is a non — profit organization created in September 2010. The Fund is entrusted with the project management innovation center «SKOLKOVO», created as a testing ground for the commercialization of research and development work on five priority areas: energy efficiency, computer, biomedical, nuclear and space technologies.
