Court of the city of Ozersk in Chelyabinsk region on Thursday sentenced a former Senator Konstantin Tsybko to 9 years of strict regime colony and a fine of 70 million rubles on charges of bribery, the correspondent of RIA Novosti news from the courtroom.

«On set, the court has appointed the defendant punishment in the form of 9 years of imprisonment in a strict regime colony and a fine of 70 million rubles, with disqualification to hold positions in the civil service for a period of 2 years. The term of serving of punishment is estimated from 3 August. Measure change for the arrest and to detain in a court hall», — said the judge Galina Lisin, disclosing a sentence.

According to investigators, as the representative of legislative Assembly of Chelyabinsk region in the Federation Council, the accused used the credibility and relevance of occupied public offices for appointment to the post of head of administration of Ozersk urban district of the Chelyabinsk region of his friend. For services rendered he received not less than 17.5 million rubles, according to investigators.

Besides, as believes a consequence, in February-April 2011 TIBCO personally and through intermediaries received a bribe of 10 million rubles from one of the owners for their patronage. The investigation adds that in his interests the Senator has repeatedly appealed to officials of the government of Chelyabinsk region and the administration of Ozersk city district with proposals to implement projects of construction of housing and infrastructure, provision of public transport and information services through companies controlled by the businessman. In the course of the proceedings was the arrest on the property of TIBCO and its close relatives.
