Foreign Minister and acting defence Minister Fumio Kishida appointed head of the policy Council of the ruling liberal democratic party, said the Agency Kyodo.

Appointment was made within the framework of reshuffles in the leadership of the party ahead of a planned late on Thursday a reorganization of the Cabinet within which Kishida will have to lose their jobs.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has decided to make changes in the government due to the falling rating. It was caused by a series of scandals in which he was involved as part of the current Ministers and the Prime Minister himself. Last week resigned as defence Minister Tomomi Inada. It is thought to be involved in the concealment from the public of important news about a shootout in southern Sudan during the stay there of Japanese peacekeepers.

For Thursday will be announced the new Cabinet, which will receive a formal credentials ceremony after the approval of the Emperor of Japan Akihito.
