The Minister of trade of Indonesia Ingratiate Lukit Thursday starts a visit to Russia which will last till August 5, to discuss the transaction on the Russian su-35 fighters within the framework of the «counter trade», reports Bloomberg, citing a statement by the Indonesian Ministry.

Indonesia intends to propose to the Russian side of the rubber and other goods for the barter trade, the Agency said. In addition, the Minister plans to discuss the acceleration of preferential trade agreement between Russia and Indonesia and the free trade agreement Indonesia-Eurasia.

The head of the FSMTC Dmitry Shugaev in June, said that Russia agreed with Indonesia a contract for the supply of fighters, and the negotiations «are in the advanced stage of development».

The Ambassador of Indonesia in Russia Wahid Supriadi said earlier that Indonesia intends to buy eight Russian su-35. According to him, the country’s laws also provide for the transfer of technology. In late April, the state Corporation rostec said that a decision in principle for the supply of su-35 Indonesia has already been made and are now discussed details of the forthcoming agreement.

At the end of last year the Minister of defence stated that he had received from the President of Indonesia Joko Widodo’s direct order to buy su-35 to replace obsolete American fighters F-5 Tiger, whose age has reached 40 years.
