The Ambassador of Czech Republic to Russia Vladimir Remek said RIA Novosti that he had not submitted an application to the foreign Ministry with a request for early termination of the powers.

Informed the Czech media, citing a source at the Czech foreign Ministry said that Remek addressed the foreign Ministry with a request for early termination of the powers and return to Prague for family reasons.

«I want to clarify that nowhere no written statement I submitted. This is by far. Ambassador unelected, appointed there, and usually for a certain period. On average in the Czech Republic it is customary to speak of a four-year term for the position of Ambassador. If you take this four-year period, depending on which date is considered, I have it ends approximately December 2017 or January 2018. I just wonder how is possible such to write, especially since it’s not based on any statement,» said Remek.

«Usually before the visit at the highest level Ambassador does not change. I hope our President (miloš Zeman – ed.) will arrive in Russia, the visit will be useful and successful. And I’ll have at least 14 days to «wrap up» all the diplomatic rules,» he added.

Remek previously reported that Zeman’s visit to Russia will likely be held in the second half of November.
