Replace a failed power supply unit of the U.S. segment of the International space station delayed due to issues with the canadian manipulator Canadarm2, told RIA Novosti NASA on Thursday.

«Replace RPCM (remote external power controller – ed.) is delayed for a time while experts assess the problems in the capture at one end of Canadarm2,» — told RIA Novosti the representative of NASA, Daniel Huot (Daniel Huot).

According to him, the new timetable for replacement of the failed equipment is not yet defined.

He assured that the manipulator is in the safe state and the problem will not affect aboard the ISS, the cargo spacecraft Dragon and the upcoming undocking.

«Delay replacement RPCM does not affect the operation of the station,» said NASA.

In August it became known about failure of the external remote power controller (RPCM). NASA had planned for months to replace it by means of a flexible manipulator (SPDM) ground services.
