The van and the locomotive collided on Saturday at a railway crossing at the station Ice Svobodnensky district of the Amur region, as a result, according to preliminary information, three people died, informs UMVD across the region.

«06.25 (00.25 GMT) at a railroad crossing Ice station Svobodnensky district was a collision of Nissan Vanette with electric. According to preliminary information, the accident three people were killed»,- stated in the message.

Press-service of the Transbaikalian railway (Zabzhd), in turn, reports that the accident did not affect passenger trains.

«The driver of the car Nissan Vanette, violating traffic rules, drove into the path of the oncoming single locomotive by banning traffic light. The locomotive engineer applied the emergency brake, but the distance to stop has been insufficient, and the collision occurred, after which the van caught fire,» reports Zabid.

According to preliminary information of the press service Zabzhd, victims — the driver and two passengers of the car, one of the passengers in a collision was thrown from Nissan Vanette, he died on the way to the hospital.

It is clarified that sound and light alarm of the railway crossing at the time of incident was working properly. «After the elimination of the consequences of the accident at 01:54 Moscow time the movement of trains through the area was restored. The incident did not affect passenger trains. Track infrastructure and rolling stock is not damaged,» — says Zabid.
