It is necessary to support the domestic film industry, so it is possible to introduce a reasonable quota for foreign paintings in Russian cinemas, but this decision should be taken by Directors and other creative people, said the leader of «Fair Russia» Sergey Mironov.

«I know that in many countries, particularly in France, such rules apply. And here nobody speaks about the attack on the sacred, or of any censorship. Of course, we have to think about the development of our national cinema. And to make a reasonable quota, I believe it is quite possible», — said Mironov on air of TV channel «Russia 24», answering a journalist’s question whether to introduce in Russia the artificial barriers to foreign cinema.

The politician stressed that, in his opinion, in this matter, «you need to give a voice to creative people», for example, filmmakers and other actors in Russian cinema. In any case, the MP emphasized, «importantly, the state did not refuse to Finance this most important of areas in art.»

Mironov also spoke about the fact, what is lacking now on the screens, despite the fact that the overall quality of the movie in Russia is growing.

«Really, we haven’t had films about the working man, was not films about something called, simple man, about a man with a conscience who isn’t looking for his place in life, he had found him, he just upholds justice, defends their ideals and their right to live according to the truth. I think that these films are needed,» the MP said, stressing that it is only his subjective opinion.
