The UK authorities will try to persuade the European Commission (EC) to be flexible about negotiations on Brexit, told RIA Novosti source in the British government.

The British government last week published a number of documents outlining their position on key issues relating to Brexit. Next week London will try to convince Brussels to compromise on issues on which the parties have disagreements.

Negotiations technically Brexit will resume on Monday, August 28, — the Minister of Brexit David Davis will meet with the chief negotiator with the EU, Michel Barnier. Working groups consisting of representatives of both parties will meet to discuss technical details of the upcoming talks. The main negotiations between Brussels and London will begin in September.

«In this round of talks will focus on the presentation of technical details on important issues related to the fact that we leave the EU and we will make a step to more significant negotiations in September,» — said the Agency interlocutor.

«Now both sides need to be flexible and willing to compromise in those matters in which there is disagreement,» said a source in the government of the United Kingdom.

The decision to withdraw from the EU was adopted by the British people in a referendum on 23 June 2016. United Kingdom 29 Mar officially launched the process of withdrawal from the EU, passing the head of the European Council Donald Tusk, a letter of notification. According to the rules set forth in the 50th article of the Lisbon Treaty, leaving the EU, Britain will have to leave the Association on March 29, 2019 — exactly two years after the launch of the Brexit.
