Requirements for ship owners in terms of maintenance and operation of ships will be tightened after the incident with the stranded near Yaroslavl ship «Ilya Muromets», the press service of Federal state budget institution «Moscow Canal» referring to the head of Herman Alenushkina.

Earlier it was reported that a boat with 130 passengers ran aground in the Yaroslavl region in the night of Sunday, threatening passengers are not. Later operative staff on the spot reported that the ship refloated and continued on.

«We intend to tighten the requirements for shipowners in terms of technical condition and operation of vessels on inland waterways. In the first place should be the safety of passengers and shipping. This is the main priority of our work,» said Alenushkin.

It is noted that the scene are the representatives of Russian transport inspection, port State control and Rybinsk district of hydraulic structures of the fgbi «Moscow Canal».
