National center USA for the prevention of hurricanes (NHC) reported that «Harvey» has weakened to the level of a tropical storm. At the same time, weather forecasters warned of the threat of «extremely serious floods», which can lead to life-threatening consequences.

«Harvey» became the most powerful hurricane in the U.S. over the past 12 years, since the country in 2005 was hit by the storm Katrina, which led to the flooding of New Orleans city in Louisiana.
