The residents of Yakutia bring flowers and candles to the memorial stone at the administration building of the mine «Mir», to honor the memory of the remaining eight underground miners, said on Monday on the website of the government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

On the mine of «ALROSA» in the town of Mirny in Yakutia, where the diamonds are mined, August 4, there was a breakthrough of water from the quarry, mine at the time was 151 people. The surface was raised 143 miners. Eight people remained under the ground. On Saturday, search and rescue operations at the mine stopped due to the risk of flooding of underground workings. Trying to pull water from the quarry with the help of directional explosions failed.

«These days, hundreds of residents of Yakutsk bring to the foot of the memorial stone, located at the administrative building of the mine «Mir», flowers, candles, mining equipment, water, everything necessary for the miners, of the incoming change», — stated in the message.

The miners remaining under the ground, was from 27 to 48 years. Four of them – the people of the Peace, four of the Belgorod region.

The head of the Republic Egor Borisov expressed his condolences to the families of the miners.

«It is a great tragedy for the company «ALROSA», for Peace, for Yakutia, for our entire country. Will do everything so that the family can survive this Woe, they will be fully provided with the necessary assistance. Serious work on the reasons of the accident.
