The Ministry of defense of Ukraine intends to transfer 22 military unit on the new power system to NATO standards until the end of 2017, said Tuesday at a briefing the official representative of the Ukrainian defense Minister Maxim Prout.

«The introduction of a new system of power in the military units in the product catalog, common in armies of the countries-members of NATO… Just by the end of this year will translate to the new power system 22 military unit», — he said.

According to him, the national Academy of ground forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny and three military units of the land forces and special operations forces a move to a new supply system from September 1.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in December 2014, amended the two laws, abandoning non-aligned status of the state. In June 2016 were adopted additional changes, which determine NATO membership a foreign policy goal of the state. Earlier, former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said that joining the Alliance Ukraine will need to meet some criteria, the implementation of which will take a lot of time. Experts believe that Kiev will not be able to apply for membership in NATO in the next 20 years.
