The share of the EU economy in the global economy will fall in the coming years, said the head of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker at the conference on Tuesday.

He noted that the EU economy loses speed, but loses significance in the world.

«We present today 23-24-25% of global GDP, and in a few years we go below,» said he.

Earlier, the head of stabilization Fund of the Eurozone – the European stability mechanism (ESM) Klaus Regling said that the share of the European economy in the world will fall to 9% by 2050 from the current about 23%. Also in 1970, the figure was about a third.
