Russia is trying to convince the United States to continue implementation of Iran nuclear deal, said Russian Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

«We focus efforts… to convince our partners in the U.S. government that they need to comply with the obligations of the Iranian nuclear deal,» said Ryabkov, at the 62nd Pugwash conference in Astana.

«If for some reason the US leaves the nuclear deal with Iran… either side (which will come) dealt a blow to international and regional security,» he warned.

Ryabkov said that «this agreement is working well.»

Iran and the six international mediators reached on 14 July 2015 the historic agreement on the settlement of the longstanding problem of the Iranian atom. Adopted a joint comprehensive plan of action (SVPD), which removes Iran’s previously imposed economic and financial sanctions by the UN security Council, US and EU. The plan came into effect on 16 January 2016.
