China, together with other members of the UN security Council to discuss the recent rocket launch of North Korea and are seeking consensus on the adoption of the necessary measures, while Beijing stands for restraint, a return to peaceful dialogue and full respect for existing resolutions declared on a press-conferences on Wednesday the Minister of foreign Affairs of China Wang I.

«The DPRK’s testing of ballistic missiles violated UN security Council resolution… China, along with other members of the UN security Council is working on the latest development of the situation, and based on consensus among UN security Council members, we will give the necessary response to latest rocket test,» — said Wang Yi

He stressed that consensus among the members of the UN security Council is a position on the need to resolve existing problems on the Korean Peninsula through diplomatic measures and peaceful negotiations, «we urge the parties to resume dialogue and abstinence from actions that could lead to an escalation of tensions, in my opinion, it is the responsibility of all members of the UN security Council».

«China will fully comply with the relevant resolutions of the UN security Council, we will fulfil our international obligations and we believe that UN security Council resolution can play an important role in deterring the development of nuclear and missile programs,» — said the foreign Minister of China.

On Tuesday morning, the DPRK fired a missile that flew over Japan’s territory after five minutes, fell to 1180 kilometers from Cape Erimo in Hokkaido. Total flight distance was 2.7 thousand kilometers, the flight lasted 14 minutes, the maximum height was 550 kilometers. Damage to air and marine vessels is not fixed. For the first time since April 2009, when North Korea launched a satellite with a missile «Taepodong-2», flight of the rocket passed over Japan’s territory.

As later reported by the South Korean Agency Yonhap, the DPRK confirmed that it had experienced on Tuesday a ballistic missile «And 12», and the test was personally attended by the country’s leader Kim Jong-UN.
