About 400 hectares of vineyards of «Massandra» has suffered from hail and more than 40 hectares damaged by mudflow at Sudak, the total damage amounted to 38 million rubles, said General Director of FSUE «Massandra» Yanina Pavlenko.

Showers and thunderstorms with hail were held August 18 in area of Sudak, Feodosia and Koktebel. A debris flow with mud in the flooded area of Sudak households, vehicles, and communications in the village of Krasnokamenka (Kizil-Tash), also element damaged vineyards at Sudak.

«Branch «perch» in total affected more than 160 ha: selle damaged about 42 hectares of vineyards, 15 of which have been completely washed away, and another 120 hectares immediately affected by hail. As a result, we expect a large yield on the «perch». In the Sea (village near Sudak — ed.), hail damaged about 250 hectares. Damage from the elements, for us, amounted to 38 million rubles in Sudak region,» — said Pavlenko «Sputnik»in Crimea.

She added that the grape harvest in the Crimea because of climatic conditions would be lower, but the quality of the finished product will not suffer.
