Onishchenko: it is necessary to dispose of 40 million tons of industrial waste

Forty million tons of industrial waste of different hazard classes throughout Russia in need of disposal, said state Duma Deputy Gennady Onishchenko at a meeting of the presidential Council on civil society development and human rights.

Onishchenko urged the Council to develop a specific solution to this issue and reminded that neutiliziruemoy waste is one of the most negative factors affecting human health.

«In the philosophical understanding household waste are industrial waste. They have nothing less than 40 million tons, and all classes of danger,» — said Onishchenko.

In an example, the MP cited the ground Krasny Bor, near St. Petersburg, where, under the open sky lay waste first and second class of danger.

The preservation of the existing system to provide regional criminal groups, for whom such disposal is good business, said Onishchenko.

«There are criminal organizations, they exist… they contribute to it all with the law, remained in a gray area. To avoid sorting because it costs profitable today to get money into a huge black hole of space of our country to the waste dump», — explained the Deputy.

He also noted that the new system should be developed with the active participation of consumers, that is, the entire population of Russia.
