The Russian CEC noted a downward trend in the number of refusals of the electoral commissions to register candidates before the current a single day of voting of such failures was almost twice less than in 2016, said the Deputy head of the Central electoral Commission Nikolay Bulaev.

Elections of different levels will be held in Russia in the uniform voting day on September 10 in 82 of the 85 regions. In 16 subjects on this day will choose governors and six elections to the regional legislative Assembly.

«I think it is very indicative of the trend that is formed, including at the site of the CEC, the total number of rejections. In 2017 4275 candidates was refused, it is almost two times less than in 2016,» said Bulaev during the CEC meeting on Wednesday.

According to the Ministry, last year the number of refusals in the elections of different levels received 7125 candidates, and the year before — in the elections to the single voting day 2015 — unregistered proved 9601 candidate.

At the same time, said Bulaev, in spite of the loyal attitude of election commissions and allocated another trend is when the candidates transferred to fight each other to the court.

«Trials, which are now in many regions, saying that, in my opinion, this fight is crossing the border of good and evil. I think requiring the electoral system of loyalty, should in principle still allow the voter to make choices, not decide the internecine struggle in court, in our opinion, it’s not quite right. Such court decisions today, and those courts a lot,» — said the Deputy head of the CEC.

For example, he said, only in Moscow of 199 lawsuits filed in various courts, 149 filed by the candidates on cancellation of registration of other candidates.
