The former President of Yemen Ali Abdullah Saleh has effectively been under house arrest due to quarrels with their allies in the civil war, Houthi rebels, according to the associated Press, citing local officials.

Conflict of Saleh with the Houthi movement «Ansar Allah» began after his comments in their address: the Houthis have considered offensive the words of Saleh about their role only as a «militia». The situation escalated last weekend, when the clashes in rebel controlled capital Sanaa was killed ally Saleh, Colonel Khaled Reda.

As stated by Agency officials, Saleh almost a week would not leave his house in Sana’a. The rebels wouldn’t let him on the funeral of Colonel, and negotiations to bridge differences has not yet been crowned with success.

According to them, the Houthis believe that Saleh is trying to organize a plot against them with fighting against the Houthis Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia. Saleh had earlier rejected suspicions and said that the only advocates for a greater role of his supporters in the joint with the rebels management. The rebels control parts of Northern Yemen, including the capital.

During his more than 30-year rule in Yemen, Saleh became enemies and fought several times with the movement «Ansar Allah». After his dismissal, as a result of the «Arab spring» he supported the Houthi rebellion against the new government, which began in 2014. His loyal military along with militants involved in the fighting with government forces and Arab coalition.
