The Ministry expects the opening of traffic along the corridor Russia-Mongolia-China in 2018, according to the Russian Agency on Wednesday.

This issue was discussed at the seminar of the economic and social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in preparation for the implementation of the intergovernmental agreement on international road transport along the Asian highway network. In the seminar including was attended by transport Minister Maxim Sokolov.

«The participants of the seminar discussed practical issues for the implementation of the agreement, a decision that will allow you to open traffic on the new road corridor Russia-Mongolia-China in 2018», — stated in the message.

According to Sokolova, it will open new horizons of cooperation between the three States. «The road connecting Russia, Mongolia and China, is becoming an important transport artery for the carriage of goods by road. And today, the experts of the three countries had the opportunity to discuss practical issues that will allow you to open traffic on the new road corridor in 2018,» — said the Minister.

The seminar was also attended by the Deputy Minister of transport of China Li Xiaoming, Vice-Minister of development of roads and transportation of Mongolia Batchuluun Tsogtgerel, acting head of Buryatia Alexey Tsydenov.
