President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree approved the application for membership of Minsk in the Asian infrastructure investment Bank, reported on Thursday a press-service of the head of state.

«The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has approved the membership application of Belarus in the Asian infrastructure investment Bank. The corresponding decree the President signed on August 31», — stated in the message.

It is noted that on signing the application is authorised the Council of Ministers of Belarus.

The Asian infrastructure investment Bank (Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, AIIB) was established in 2015 to Finance infrastructure projects in Asia Pacific, brings together 57 member countries. The authorized capital of the organization amounts to $ 100 billion. The largest share of votes in the Board of Directors of the Bank received China, India and Russia.
