In Poland more than 20 people were injured in the collision of trains

A passenger train collided with a freight train at the railway station in the North of Poland, 21 people, including four children, were injured, reports the associated Press, citing local authorities.

The accident occurred on Wednesday at about 22.00 local time (23.00 MSK) to Starogardzka County in the North of the country. As the representative of the railway company of Poland Miroslav Semenets (Miroslaw Siemieniec), a passenger train, in which were about 300 people, was heading from the city of Gdynia in Bielsko-biała. As a result of collision seven of the 11 cars derailed.

According to the representative of fire service of Paul Machaka (Pawel Fratczak), four children injured in accident, taken to hospital, one of them was transported from the scene by helicopter. According to him, the train at the time of the incident were less than 200 passengers.

Authorities are investigating possible causes of the incident.
