Russia from September 1, authorizes the importation into its territory of lettuce, iceberg lettuce, peppers, zucchini and pumpkins with 9 companies of Turkey, reported on the website of the Rosselkhoznadzor.

The Russian delegation in may this year visited Turkey for the inspection of local producers.

«The results of the visit the Rosselkhoznadzor considers it possible under the guarantee of the Ministry of food and livestock of Turkish Republic to allow from 1 September 2017 the import into the territory of the Russian Federation from the Republic of Turkey specified products», — stated in the message.

Earlier, the Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Tkachev said that the Ministry of agriculture does not exclude export of tomatoes from Turkey in the coming winter-spring in small volumes.

Russia introduced an embargo on the supply of Turkey a number of products from 1 January 2016 in response to the attack on the Turkish air force Russian su-24 in Syria. Then the restrictions were partially lifted. By early June, the ban was in force in respect of frozen meat and offal of chickens and turkeys, tomatoes, cucumbers and gherkins, fresh grapes, apples, pears, strawberries and strawberries.

In addition, the Rosselkhoznadzor in 2016 has imposed a ban on supplies to Russia of Turkish tomato, pepper, pomegranate, eggplant, lettuce and iceberg lettuce, zucchini and pumpkins. In early June 2017, the government lifted the embargo on Turkish products besides tomatoes.
