The Moscow city court upheld the extension until October 3, the house arrest of opposition activist Mark Halperin in the case of extremism, the correspondent of RA news from the courtroom.

The measure had previously extended the petty-bourgeois court of Moscow.

Attorney Halperin Alex lipcer, asking the court to release the defendant on his own recognizance, said that the investigation is not submitted to the court of first instance of evidence to prove that, being at large, the activist intends to abscond from the investigation and trial.

Halperin is charged with public calls for extremist activities on the Internet. Earlier, the activist was brought to administrative responsibility for participation in rallies, in particular, he received 15 days of administrative arrest for disobeying police at unsanctioned rally on March 26 in Moscow. On Tverskaya street and the adjacent territories, according to police estimates, there were about 7-8 thousand people. The head of Department of regional security and combating corruption Moscow Vladimir Tchernikov has told RIA Novosti that they detained more than 600 people.
