The U.S. Embassy in Moscow will not be able to conduct interviews via Skype with applicants for nonimmigrant visas from the regions for technical reasons, told reporters Plenipotentiary Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the USA Lawrence Toby.

«I regret that on a number of technical reasons we can’t do that. This, unfortunately, is impossible,» Toby said, answering the question about the possibility of holding remote interviews.

He said that the consular section of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow will resume September 1.

«Tomorrow we will start work in the amount of 1,000 interviews per day, but it’s not exactly,» said Toby.

«We still prepare visa applications, which started there. This work was not suspended. Friday we issued a little less than a thousand visas,» he added.
