Online service for taxi service Uber offers residents of the U.S. city of Houston, which was severely damaged by hurricane «Harvey», a free trip, said the mayor of the city of Sylvester Turner.

«Uber, with its application, which again works here, offers free trips to and from the asylum (up to $ 50),» wrote the mayor on Twitter.

With its app working here again, @Uber offers free rides to and from shelters (up to $50 per trip). Thank you!

At least 30 people were killed and more than 13 thousand were saved during the floods that engulfed large areas of Texas. According to the evening of Tuesday, 20 thousands of Texas residents remained in shelters due to the disaster.

The flood was caused by hurricane «Harvey», which then weakened to a tropical storm. As expected, the destruction of «Harvey» can be bigger than hurricane Katrina in 2005, which seriously affected Louisiana.
