Blogger Alexander Lapshin, a citizen of Russia and Israel, may be deported from Azerbaijan in Israel and in Russia, told RIA Novosti on Monday, his lawyer Eduard Chernin.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Monday signed a decree to pardon Lapshin.

«Documents for deportation Lapshin ready. He is released from custody. But he has not yet chosen the exact route. It can fly both in Israel and in Russia», — said the lawyer.

According to him, Lapshin is now in the Central clinical hospital. «I have yet to met and talked with the doctors, they said, feels normal,» — said the lawyer.

Informed in a press-service of the head of state also said that lapshyn tried to commit suicide in connection with the delay in his extradition to Israel.

At the end of 2016 lapshyn was arrested in Minsk at the request of Azerbaijan, which included him in the «black list» for a visit without the consent of Baku with the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. The Prosecutor General of Belarus has decided to satisfy the request of Azerbaijan and to give Lapshin. A court in Baku sentenced Lapshin to three years of imprisonment. The Russian foreign Ministry announced that Russia will continue to protect the rights of Lapshin.

The conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh began in February 1988 when Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous region (NKAR) announced their withdrawal from the Azerbaijani SSR. In September 1991, in the centre of Nagorno-Karabakh Stepanakert it has been declared creation of Nagorno-the Karabakh Republic (NKR). The Azerbaijani authorities during the subsequent military conflict have lost control over Nagorno-Karabakh. Since 1992 negotiations on peaceful settlement of the conflict within OSCE Minsk group. Azerbaijan insists on maintaining its territorial integrity, Armenia protects interests of unrecognized Republic as Nagorno-Karabakh is not a party to the negotiations.
