The turnout on the last Sunday in Yaroslavl region election Governor was 33,88%, told journalists the Chairman of the electoral Commission of the region Oleg Zakharov.

Answering the journalists ‘ question how he evaluates such a turnout, the head of the electoral Commission said that its «absolutely natural».

«It’s a little lower than in the Duma elections, but it reflects the interest of voters for the elections of the Governor. It is, nevertheless, higher than any turnout, which was before the regional elections,» — said Zakharov.

He noted that before the electoral Commission were not instructed to focus on any specific turnout. «Our goal was to maximally inform the public about the elections»,- said the speaker.

Zakharov noted that gubernatorial elections increased turnout in elections of deputies of municipality of Yaroslavl. «The turnout amounted to 31,75%, which is pretty high for the city of Yaroslavl. That is, the elections of the Governor has increased the interest in the elections to the municipality,» he said.
