The non-recognition of the EU elections of the Governor of Sevastopol remains legitimate in the context of the policy of double standards and far from reality, said RIA Novosti Chairman of the legislative Assembly of Sevastopol Ekaterina Altabaeva.

Sevastopol on 10 September for the first time by popular vote elected the Governor of the city and held a by-election in legislative Assembly of the city. Crimea held elections to the national Parliament. The EU stated that it did not recognize the elections on the Peninsula as remain steadfast in their support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

«If we consider the will of the people illegal from the point of view of the European Union and pseudo-Democrats of Ukraine, it is a demonstration of double standards. The fact that the Sevastopol and Crimean residents came to the polls, expressed their point of view is the demonstration that the inhabitants of the Peninsula feel themselves to be citizens of Russia», — said Altabaeva.

According to her, «the reality is». «I think that the sooner this is acknowledged by policy, the right to be in General to develop our world. I think that the Crimea and Sevastopol will be recognized as an integral part of the Russian Federation, including the politics of Europe», — concluded the Chairman of the legislative Assembly of Sevastopol.
