The majority of Russians are in favor of forming a unified educational space, 70% support the idea of introducing the main textbooks for each subject of the school curriculum, the survey showed the all-Russia centre of studying of public opinion (VTSIOM).

The opinion about necessity of creation of unified educational space in the Russian schools is shared by 84% of respondents, while supporters of this idea in all the main socio-demographic groups were more than three quarters. Against the initiative voted 13% of all survey participants.

Most of the supporters of the idea to motivate the need for such reform is that all students must be in equal conditions, and opponents mainly argue about the infringement of freedom of schools and dissatisfaction of the exam.

The majority of Russians (70%), as follows from the results of the survey also support the initiative of introducing the basic textbook for each subject of the program while maintaining a number of other for more in-depth study. Against this speaks a quarter of Russian citizens (25%).

All prosegregation to respondents, in the first place, it would be advisable to introduce the basic textbooks on the Russian language and mathematics (algebra and geometry) — these options are called 57% and 55%, respectively. Also among the priority disciplines, which need a tutorial survey participants include history (43%) and books (41%). Least likely in this series called books on the foundations of religious and secular ethics and the visual arts (7%), and 30% consider it necessary the introduction of core textbooks in all subjects.

A nationwide survey «polls-Sputnik» was held on September 3-4 among 1.2 thousand respondents. Survey method – telephone interviews, the statistical error does not exceed 3.5%.
