The EU Council has officially confirmed the extension to March 15, 2018 individual sanctions against citizens and legal entities of Russia and Ukraine, which the EU accuses of undermining the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, reads the statement of the EU Council.

«The Council on 14 September 2017, extended the restrictive measures in respect of actions undermining and threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, for a further six months, until 15 March 2018. These measures constitute a freeze on assets and ban on entry,» — said in a communique.

As stated in the document, «assessment of the situation does not allow you to change the sanctions regime».

«The list was revised, the Board has excluded entities that are not alive. In connection with the merger of three legal entities, these legal entities were deleted from the list and the legal entity that was formed when the merger was added to maintain sanctions at the current level,» — said the EU Council.

Now in the sanctions list are 149 persons and 38 entities.

The decision will be published in the Official journal of the European Union on 15 September 2017.
